My Poor Little Saplings !

As part of world's Environmental day celebrated on 5th June 2010 , they were distributing saplings in my office on 3rd June 2010. You need to enroll your name with the number of saplings you like to have on the previous day. ie on 2nd June 2010. I don't have space for tree in my home so I didn't enroll my name.

But , When I saw the saplings on 3rd , I wanted them so much, I thought how could I have one or two of them and an idea sprang in head. I could give them as a gift - a birthday gift , to someone special , planting it at their' home will be the same for me .

I found two people who agreed to give me their saplings . I got two saplings from the various variety of choices ,while taking them I was told that one is pomegranate and other is cherry . Later on I came to know that both are pomegranate itself. I hoped at least one of them will survive.

I took care of them from the day I got them , took them for sun bath and watered them. I was thinking to give them as a surprise on 8th to "the someone" , But I couldn't give them then as I couldn't meet the person.

My patience died and on 10th I told , that the birthday surprise is two tree saplings., And the answer I got was ,"how did you guess I will take them with me ? "

Well, I didn't see that coming. Life is unpredictable though, Not even small things go the way you want :)

And, there are people who doesn't like plants and trees. :)



I still take them for sun bathing and water them , may be till they die. I feel melancholic to them but I don't want to throw them of. May be Slow death is what waiting for them. I don't want to give them to someone else because there are alot emotions attached. May be I should think practically sometimes :)

Mommy's baby talk !

I happen to overhear a conversation between two mothers.

well, I guess when mommies meet they do baby talks :)

Mom 1: Aravind is smart compared to Aromal , But he doesn't work hard nor does he spent time with books.

Mom 2: Hmm, You know , It is actually bad when the children doesn't feel bad when they have to .
My daughter Archana*, when she was in fourth standard , I understood that point. In their school is an award given to the best performer of the standard. She used to get it every year . When she was in fourth standard I was worried if she will be upset if she didn't get the award. But that day she came home happy and told me, "Mom , this year Kavya got the award for the best performer". Being an role model mother i had to appreciate her for her wholeheartedness. I couldn't tell her It was better if you got it .

Mom 1 : hmm

Mom 2: In her school , she was one of the bright student and if she didn't get the expected mark for any subjects teachers used to take special care. They used to ask her what happened and scold her for not studying well. There was a good relationship between teachers and students and she got A+ for all subjects in her 10th .

But when she joined her 11 and 12th , being in the same campus , it was a different atmosphere . They didn't had any connection with their old teachers and new teachers where retired professors from engineering colleges .They came to class took lectures ,but there was difference in the wavelength between the students and teachers. The teachers never bothered to ask who got high marks in 10th and who got least. They didn't compare the students performance with their past marks.

So in 11th and 12th she didn't had to satisfy any teachers , she relaxed a bit and the teachers never bothered to scold students. The teachers and students where happy and enjoying their on life.

Why govt. brought 11th and 12th instead of predegree is because the kids are not ready for college right after 10th . But in their school , it was almost equal to predegree.

What happened was , in their school they had a lot of A+ in 10th standard and when 12th result came not even half of the kids managed to get A+ , and she didn't get too.

As part of my character , I wanted to middle :) . But this time I successfully didn't .

even though I knew I wouldn't tell all these rubbish because my kid didn't score mark , I knew the lady was worried where to put her kid next, I have seen my parents in the same state (where to put me after 12th) .

But they never blamed my school or my teachers or anything . They even didn't scold me , they just told me if you had tried you could have done better. We know that .

Yesterday was my day :)

This month .. I had a lot to write , now a days I think twice^100 times if I really need to write nor not :D .

Basically its because of laziness :) .. I was wondering if atleast i could take up a part time profession as a blog writer (after reading Whisper blog)

And Last but not the least , yesterday I celebrated my 23rd b'de and it was My day :)

Wanted to do something to the world. thought of Blood donating (As i had read it some where, "donate blood , give life ")

I went to RCC (Regional Cancer Center) and Declared "Hmm , I wanna donate blood "

First, they looked at me , after two mints they asked "which class you are in ?"

I am working in Technopark. I said with emphasis on the last word so that they dont go for more questions.

Ok ! Lets take your weight then - 53 kg- hmm thats marginal weight . one doc said and the other found my bag.

They took my weight again with out my bag this time and found that my weight is 50 kg.

But for some reason they didn't feel to say no to me, they called a nurse and asked to take my Hemoglobin count .

I was happy :) and gave one drop of blood for my hemoglobin count test and the nurse came back with my result and told me the doc 1 is calling .

Doc 1 said : your Hemoglobin count is 12.1 , it at least need to be 13 and your weight is marginal ,
please put on some more weight , eat good food , fruits and vegetables.

So the Blood Donation Plan was a fiasco this time too :(

Love marraige and Running Race !

As part of our discussion I was trying to be more eg giving person , well for what sort of reason , I have no idea.

But ,I was telling , Its like a running race with a clause that you just need to cover the distance (love marriages) you have run half the distance successfully ie: fall in love , now there is only half more distance to go , so keep up the spirit, keep running, you will reach the end successfully. (ie parents permission)

Yes babe you are right, she said. but I have a small difference of opinion with your comparison.
In the second phase of the running race, the rule is altered a bit. The ribbon ,the one you have to touch once reaching the end also starting running. . .

Water Apple Jam !

This time it was water apple's luck . . .

Ingredients

Water apple : 1 cup
Sugar : 1/2 cup
vanilla essence : 1 tea spoon

Procedure

Grind the water apple in a mixer without adding anything. Water apple itself has a lot of water in it, so you will not need to add more water to it.

Pour the purée into a wide-mouth pan, add sugar and cook in medium heat.

Use a long handle spatula to stir. Keep on stirring every 30 seconds, so that the mixture will not get burned in the bottom of the pan.

Once the water from water apple starts evaporating and it becomes pasty, you can switch of the heat at any consistency you like, like a sauce or jam.

Add the vanilla essence, and mix it well.

Let the it cool off, bottle it and enjoy :)
